Our Bible Conference and Camping Session is called 'Camp Siloam' after the healing of the blind man in John chapter 9. Of all the miracles Jesus performed, this miracle has the most detail of all God's wonderful miracles!
John 9:7 Jesus said
"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing."
then in verse 10, we see the critics
"Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight."
Our desire is to reach blind adults for Jesus Christ and then to equip these folks to go out into the world and reach other blind and sighted people! Lord willing 2018 will be our 15th year to reach the blind for Christ! We would earnestly covet your support and prayers.
We have posted on our website, a number of photos complete with captions concerning camp and camp activities. We try to vary our activities from year to year. We have a morning Bible study with Bro. Bruce Coonce, who is the assistant pastor of the Community Baptist Church in San Marcos, TX. Bruce is also blind. He has a great teaching style and has been a wonderful addition to our camp.
The evening preaching times are conducted by Bro. George Gray who is the camp director.
Some of the activities we have are swimming, horseback riding, two hayrides, two talent nights a shopping trip, Bible trivia games, Christian movies, a closing campfire and a special ladies' fellowship time.
In 2018 Camp Siloam will take place from Sat., May 19 thru Sat., May 26 at the Golden Cross Campground in New Caney, Texas. New Caney is approximately 20 miles from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport where most of our campers fly into.
There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee to get a camp application and medical form. the cost for the week is $325 which includes room and board and most of the activities.
